Burberry Acoustic: Rae Morris

Yet another facet of the fantastic (and flourishing) initiative Burberry has made at enhancing their brand over the past several years - Burberry Acoustic. In collaboration with developing artists from Britain, Burberry features an acoustic track by each filmed at a location meaningful to them. That said, Burberry most recently released 18 year old Rae Morris's "Wait A While" - innocent and powerful - and I must say that I really love it...

One more for the road (not from Burberry) - her song "Walls" accompanied by the Halle Orchestra...

Ryan Adams: Ashes & Fire

NPR's First Listen happens to be quite the source for hearing albums before they're released. It has been the reason for my excessive playing of a new album, Ashes & Fire, by a most beloved singer-songwriter/musician - Ryan Adams.

Despite the wide range of sounds he has proven to be capable of pulling off, Ashes & Fire maintains an element that I find to be true to vintage Adams, beautiful, lyrically poetic and thought-provoking.

The Greek Theatre - Sugarland

I admittedly have been on a country music kick for a while now. To top it off, yesterday, a sweet friend graciously showed us a fabulous evening at the Greek Theatre. She puts on quite a show for Sugarland.

The venue is beautifully set in the trees of Griffith Park. There is something about an empty theatre that is thrilling and inspiring. My phone attempt to capture that was not so effective...

A good weekend...

My husband helped start the weekend right with an early birthday celebration for me. After months of hearing the hype, I partook in my first experience of "the fifth taste" (umami) by eating one of these...

Finally got to see these guys perform live.

Quite a show. I would recommend it even if you've never heard their music.

Later that weekend, we had a little show of our own for a friend's birthday.

... and Mister decided to prop himself right up front for everyone's viewing pleasure.

...but cleared up just in time for a sunny 4th of July on the beach.

We joined in on a hilarious dance party...

Who knew they still existed? I thought for a second that a 5 year old mistook my basket with their parent's - but no, they were hand-selected by a 28 year old man - my husband.

So, I did a little exploring and have found myself highly entertaining by the website dedicated to Reese's Puffs - specifically the Reese's Puffs Rap... hilarious. Not my typical Tuesday Tune, but embrace it...
